Twitter style service for the office

Posted on 15. Aug, 2008 by John in Latest News

If you love Twitter and want to use something similar for the office work, give ididwork a try. The service lets you keep a history of your work and share it with your team as well as getting feedback in realtime from your Team Leader / Manager.

As you can see below the service asks you “what did you do?” and you have 160 characters at your disposal.

You can then tag the note and add the time spent on the project/task for the reporting features later on. ididwork has two types of user that you can sign-up for (click on the links for the demo videos, I couldn’t embed them here);

Single User

The single users sign up allows you to analyse your time and see what you have been working on, if your notes are tagged correctly you will get some fancy bar and pie charts telling you what you have been up to and how much time you have spent on doing certain tasks.

Team Leader

If you sign up as a team leader then you will get a stream of information from your employees, see what they are doing and what they are working on.

I have just started to use ididwork and it’s a very simple to use service. I think with support for updates on the go, either with sms or mobile apps, and a desktop client as well this could be a very useful service.

ididwork is free and no invite is required to give it a go.

    Hi John,

    Just wanted to say thanks for writing this article (on behalf of the ididwork team). We’re definitely planning on adding more forms of input (including twitter/sms/email/desktop client), just might take a little while since we’re a little pressed hammering out features. Thanks again,

    I think a IM interface would help put this application over the top. Great idea. Testing this out this week for work.
