For a while now the blogosphere have been telling Twitter how they should make money, but a new website called TwittAd has claimed it will make money for you the twitter user, by placing ads on your Twitter page.

TwittAd was formed to give Twitter users and advertisers the opportunity to meet for product placement & website promotion on a Twitter user profile. Our goal is to not fill Twitter with ugly & obnoxious advertisements. We give advertisers templates and ideas to help keep the integrity of Twitter background images.

The idea is to post your Twitter account for advertisers to purchase, select your duration and price and then based on followers and followings you wait for the advertiser to purchase your space which you can accept or deny. According to the twittad they will pay you for every hour you serve the ad and a virtual account balance will be calculated. Once the ad expires the money is then released to you. TwittAd will take the listing fee plus a 5% service charge and once the TwittAd users account reaches $20 they can request payment.

The Before and after shot.

Before TwittadAfter Twittad
This site is one of many you can expect to see cropping up, already I’ve noticed twitads and twitad are registered and have landing pages, as well as some other variations to the above name, this could turn out to be quite a spam fest and I guess time and reviews will tell if this fly’s or dies, and if in fact people get paid.
