Jaiku’s back and it looks the same
As you will have read or noticed over the past couple of days Jaiku has been down, and a lot was made of this downtime in the blogosphere, maybe Google would be giving it a complete revamp?, new features on the way etc..
They have now returned, explaining that the reason for the downtime was due to server issues and not heap loads of updates.
We’ve now moved Jaiku to a Google data center. This is something that we’d planned to do anyway, as part of our future transition to Google App Engine. Now that we’ve moved, we’ll need to ask you to review and accept a new terms of service and privacy policy. Head here to do that.
One good thing to come out of the change over is they now have open unlimited invitations for Jaiku so If you would like an invite to Jaiku and can’t wait for Jaiku to send you one (long wait times). dm me up on Twitter with your email address and I will send you one through.
