Ping.fm the social network updating service has teamed up with Spinvox to enable you to update your service via the gift of the voice.

We’re proud to announce a neat little feature brought to you by us and our friends over at SpinVox. Now, thanks to the power of SpinVox’s wonderful voice technology, you can literally speak to your social networks. Yeah, seriously, you can call a SpinVox phone number and leave a message. Their amazing voice to text technology will take your message, convert it into readable text and pass it along to, then we do our thing we do. And, there you have it! Now, you can really “say it” when it comes to your pinging.

Spinvox had already tried to do something along the same lines by integrating Jaiku, FriendFeed and Twitter as part of it’s own Social Networks package, however I guess they may decide to remove this from the website and replace it with the new ping deal.

To use this service, just add your mobile number into ping’s system and it will then give you a telephone number to make your updates with.
