Tweetsville the iPhone app with search [Preview]

Tweetsville is the latest in the long line of Twitter applications to emerge for the iPhone. The application has yet to be released/approved in the iTunes store but from the feature list that has been given will stand out for one reason, it is the only application that has been released so far that has advanced search and trend functions allowing you to search for tweets not only by content but by location and date, which may prove a powerfull little add-on.

The standard timeline lets you keep track of what’s going on

  • Shows up to 200 tweets
  • Rich text display. *bold* will display as bold, etc.
  • Clickable inline links and @names
  • Two looks: Balloon and Simple
  • Displays border for tweets in which you are referenced in Balloon mode.
  • Tap a tweet to view details, send replies, and mark as a favorite.

As explained above the application will let you explore the latest hot topics
Tweetsville will also let you search using Twitter advanced query terms with Location/Date based search also supported.
Other features are pretty much standard things we can expect from an iPhone app such as direct message support, the ability to upload photo’s to twitpic etc… no idea when the application will be released, but keep your eyes out in the coming weeks.
First thoughts is that this could be quite a popular application with it’s integrated search feature, for now people have had to use Summizer which is a great app for running search terms on Twitter however tweetsville combines the two into what seems to be a very nice looking application.

  1. For the record, Summizer has been on the app store for over a month, and is specifically a Twitter trending client supporting advanced queries.

Tweetsville looks nice though, can’t wait to try it.
